Local Artist Goes International

Tonight, as part of The Columbia Festival of the Arts, the Columbia Art Center opens a new exhibit entitled, “Art Reinvention” which features art created with raw, organic, found or recycled materials.

One of the selected artists in the show is none other than my wife, Michelle! I am so proud of her for pursuing her passion, and I am excited that she is part of the lively art scene we have here in Columbia. So if you’re not doing anything tonight, please join us at The Columbia Art Center from 5-7!

Michelle is also participating in an international exhibit called Mind the Gap which will take place this September in Istanbul, Turkey. The title playfully alludes to transportation, but also references borders and gaps of all kinds: geographic, social, and economic. She is coordinating this with Alexia Mellor, who was recently featured in the Boston Globe as one of the six graduate students to watch.

There are plans in the works to bring a version of this show to our area, so watch this space for more info….
